Review of Honeytone Cody - 28th February 2007 © Malcolm Merrington, Huddersfield Honeytone Cody returned to the New Roscoe last night with a solid new line up and some exquisite new songs. Danny Barton was mighty on the bass, Martell James beat the sh*t out of the drums, Elliot Nelson got sounds out of a glamourous shiny white Les Paul and a Strat that no one else on earth has produced and Elle was Elle - mesmerically beautiful to eye and ear.
Starting out with the crunching Moth they gave one of their best performances including Dead End Money and Hand Me The Gun. A breather in the middle for bass and drums while Elle & Elliot did a short unplugged set. The full band returned for the last few songs and finished on the new and rather good Radioactive Tease. The audience cried for more so they played an encore - the last song over again even better! Bloody brilliant gig!
